Looks like Google is focussed to provide affordable decent smartphones. Just a week ago Google announced the normal version of the Android, Android Pie. And now Google launched the lighter version of the this Android for the entry-level phones, Android Pie (Go Edition).
The previous Go Edition of Android Oreo wasn’t able to impress much. But I expect Google to do something good with this. The first batch of phones with this version is expected to ship this year itself. It will also have the new security features of Android Pie regular version.
With this, all the Go versions of the apps like Google Go, Maps Go, Files Go etc will be default present in these phones.
Maps Go will now be able to perform navigation, which before wasn’t able to do.
Google Phone app in these phones will also show the Caller ID and will make you to detect the spam calls. In the Google Go, you will be able to open web pages and select text.
As this version is lighter so it will give you an extra 500 MB of internal storage than normal. Also, you will be able to check the date used in the dashboard provided.
